Rescue Bag proudly donates 20% of its profits (gross margin) each month to a featured rescue we like to call the Rescue of the Month!
Founded in 2013, Canine Haven Rescue is a 100% volunteer run, foster based non profit operating out of the Greater Toronto Area. The rescue began after founder Tarah spent time volunteering in shelters and communities in the Dominican Republic and Mexico, feeding stray dogs, providing medical care, and educating local families. When she returned home, that experience became Canine Haven Rescue.
Over the years Canine Haven has rescued dogs from many countries around the world, and today their efforts are focused on Ontario and Barbados. They do not discriminate based on age, breed, or where a dog comes from. No dog is boarded in a kennel. Each one goes straight into a foster home where their personality and needs can be properly understood, and stays there until adopted. They do not euthanize to make space, and some dogs have remained in the program for over a year while the right match was found.
Run entirely by passionate volunteers with no paid staff and no outside funding, Canine Haven relies solely on donations and volunteer led fundraisers to cover veterinary care and supplies. Every foster home, adoption application, donation, and shared story helps another dog find safety, love, and a future filled with hope.

Donation Transparency
Transparency is core to how we operate. Each year, a qualified accountant independently reviews our financials and verifies that 20% of our gross margin has been donated to animal rescues. That signed validation is published annually, so our community can see exactly how we follow through on our commitment.
