Founded in May 2016, DIBS Rescue is a volunteer run, foster based rescue operating from Mississauga throughout the Greater Toronto Area. The name stands for Dogs In Better Spots, and their mission is to rescue homeless and abandoned dogs from Mexico and Canada and place them in loving homes across Ontario.
Many of the dogs DIBS helps come from Mexico, where they've been abandoned, surrendered or left on the street. Working with trusted partners like Playa Animal Rescue and The Dog-Go Project, DIBS gives these dogs safety, veterinary care and a path to a new life.
As a foster based organization, DIBS doesn't operate a shelter. Every dog goes straight into a foster home, with a network stretching from London to Ottawa. Daily contact with partners in Mexico means the team knows each dog's quirks and needs before they arrive, allowing them to thoughtfully match every dog with the right family.
Beyond rescue and adoption, DIBS supports its partner shelters with food, vet care and spay and neuter clinics that tackle overpopulation at the source. They also promote responsible pet ownership through education on spay and neuter, positive training and good nutrition.
Run entirely by volunteers, DIBS relies on adoption fees, donations and community support to keep saving lives. Every foster home, airport pickup, donation and shared story helps another dog find a better spot.

Donation Transparency
Transparency is core to how we operate. Each year, a qualified accountant independently reviews our financials and verifies that 20% of our gross margin has been donated to animal rescues. That signed validation is published annually, so our community can see exactly how we follow through on our commitment.
