Halfway Home K9
Toronto, Ontario
Halfway Home K9 Rescue is a Canadian nonprofit dedicated to helping dogs in need, both domestically and internationally. Since 2020, they have rescued and rehomed over 700 dogs through their 100% foster-based program. Their focus is on assisting northern communities along the James Bay Coast and other remote locations, working ethically to reduce dog overpopulation by rescuing unwanted, injured, or stray dogs and organizing spay clinics. With comprehensive veterinary care and adoption services, they ensure every dog finds a loving home. Entirely donation-funded, HHK9 believes every dog deserves shelter, a family, and a place to call home.
Ruby's Journey to a Pain Free Life
Meet Ruby, a dog whose resilience and heart shone despite the challenges she faced. Likely suffering from an old injury or a birth defect, Ruby endured daily pain for far too long. Yet, her sweet and playful nature never wavered—she greeted the world with love, even after being let down by those who were supposed to care for her.

To finally relieve her suffering, Ruby underwent a leg amputation. This life-changing surgery ensured she could live the happy, pain-free life she deserved. Halfway Home K9 gave Ruby the care she needed and surrounded her with the love she had always deserved.
